Frequently asked questions

What is CashLinx?

Two things, from one company. CashLinx Services is a bookkeeping practice: hand us your books and we run AR, AP, and bank reconciliation and close your month. CashLinx is the platform that work runs on, and other practices run their own clients on it too.

Do you keep my books, or do you sell software?

Both, and you only need the one you came for. A business owner hires CashLinx Services and never has to care that we wrote the software. A bookkeeper or CPA licenses the platform and runs their own clients on it under their own name. The pairing is the point: the software is what we use on real client books every month, not a product built at arm's length from the work.

Does it replace QuickBooks or NetSuite?

No. CashLinx connects to the client's accounting system and mirrors it for fast reads. The accounting system stays the system of record. Write-back is idempotent and only happens after review.

Who is it for?

Small businesses that want their bookkeeping handled, and the bookkeeping practices and accountants who serve them. Business owners get a live view of their numbers, their documents, and their running charges through the client portal.

If I run a practice, do my clients see your brand?

No. Your clients see your practice name on your proposals, engagement letters, and client-facing documents. Your data is isolated from every other practice on the platform, ours included.

Who am I contracting with?

CashLinx, LLC, a California limited liability company. Platform use is governed by the Terms of Service. Bookkeeping delivered by CashLinx Services is governed by a separate written engagement letter, so you always know which agreement covers which part.

What can a client see in the portal?

Their live P&L, balance sheet, cash position, and AR/AP aging, plus anything waiting for their approval. It is mobile-first.

Which accounting systems and banks connect?

QuickBooks Online and NetSuite to start, with Xero and Sage planned. Banking connects through Plaid for feeds and reconciliation.

Is it read-only?

The first phase is read-only: connect, mirror, and show live dashboards, with no posting risk. AR, AP, and reconciliation write-back land next, behind both reviews.

How does review work?

Every change clears two stages before it posts back to the client's books: a client approval and a CPA or accountant review. Both are first-class and audited.

How is my data secured?

Default-deny row level security isolates every practice and every client, with least-privilege roles, encrypted connection secrets, and audited actions. See the Security page.

Can I add my team?

Yes. A practice admin adds staff and sets each person's role: bookkeeper, reviewer, CPA reviewer, or admin.

How does billing work?

You bill each client for the service with retainers and invoices, and CashLinx tracks what has been collected and what is still outstanding.

How do I get started?

Your practice is provisioned and you are guided through setup: name the practice, add your first client, invite your team, and connect accounting. See the setup guide.

What does it cost?

Pricing is being finalized. Reach out at support@mycashlinx.com and we will help you get going.
